We are looking for an engaged youth coach for Ranagård

The municipality of Halmstad launched a brand new meeting place at Rangård in a larger primary school and adapted school in 2024, which also includes an integrated public and school library and a meeting place for young people. This is Halmstad's first combined meeting place for youth and library focused solely on children and young people and their adults. In this operation, we have access to many different creative spaces, we work closely with the school and other administrations, and we reach out to students in adapted schools. The operation is based on safety, a sense of responsibility, context, and attractiveness, with a strong focus on participation in the development of the operation. Our mission is, among other things, to inspire, enrich, and enable an equal and meaningful leisure time for children and young people in Halmstad municipality.

Your tasks

As a youth coach, you will work with young people in grades 5-9, as well as young people with disabilities in grade 6 to 1st year of high school. You will assist library visitors who are children aged 0-16 years and their important adults. The position includes collaborating extensively with nearby schools and other external actors. The working method at Flow means that youth coaches and librarians work closely together to create an attractive operation for all our visitors. The primary mission of the youth coaches is relationship building and enabling young people's influence and participation. We achieve this by supporting and coaching the young people's ideas and working inclusively and outwardly to meet the needs of young people. The daily work is based on a promoting perspective and builds on the interests of young people and youth. As a youth coach, you will lead and plan a wide range of different theme and group activities such as sports activities, cultural experiences, creative creation, dance, and more.

Evening shifts are included in the position.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a leisure leader education or other post-secondary education that the employer assesses as equivalent
• Has at least 5 years of experience working with children and young people
• Has a genuine interest in youth issues and sees young people as a resource
• Has a good approach, finds it easy to create new contacts and build trusting relationships
• Is structured and can work independently as well as in a group
• Is responsible, has good initiative and dares to try new things
• Has good technical knowledge in VR, computer, and video games
